About Us

Owner Harriet Spivey grew up loving dogs and always had a fur-brother or sister.  When the opportunity arose for Harriet to leave the corporate world after 20 years of dreaming about a dog related business, Harriet jumped at the chance. Harriet has 10 years experience in the pet care industry. Harriet attended grooming school at the world renowned Nash Academy of Animal Arts, earning a Certificate of Styling. Harriet is well trained in recognizing skin diseases, as well as many other health care problems your pet may encounter.

Harriet is a certified Pet Tech Emergency Pet Care Instructor and a Red Cross Pet First Aid certified instructor. Harriet has also studied canine massage therapy through the Equissage School of Equine and Canine Message Therapy, and has completed numerous Animal Behavior courses, specializing in canine behavior, as well as several dog training classes.  Harriet owned and operated a grooming, boarding, and Madison County’s first doggie daycare facility for 8 years.

While loving the business, Harriet wanted more family time and found the boarding business too time consuming.  All along, Harriet’s passion for grooming kept her wanting her own business again.  Harriet’s dream of a safe, modern, stress-free, pet spa is once again a reality.  Dazzling Dogs Pet Spa, LLC is just that.  With the growth of the New Richmond By-Pass, Dazzling Dogs is conveniently located at 2005 Merchant Dr., located minutes from both Richmond exits 87 & 90.

Owner Harriet Spivey has been grooming in Richmond for 10 years, after graduating from world renowned Nash Academy of Animal Arts.  Harriet is certified to teach Red Cross Pet First Aid, former doggie daycare/kennel owner and operator, and has extensive knowledge of animal behavior.

Harriet came to EKU and fell in love with the central KY area and decided to make Richmond her home.  Spending 20 years in the utility industry, Harriet realizes how important safety is to any job.  Dazzling Dogs Pet Spa strives to be the safest pet salon for your pet as well as our employees.  Harriet has committed herself to community service work.  She has been active with local animal rescue groups for over 30 years and has organized many charity events for various civic organizations over the years.  Harriet co-chaired Madison County’s Big Brothers/Big Sisters Bowl For Kids Sake for 25 years.

You can feel comfortable knowing when you leave your pet in the care of Harriet and her well-trained staff at Dazzling Dog Pet Spa, your pet is in the best care possible and will leave her salon feeling happy and stress free, not to mention looking dazzling!
